Kasuga Takao is a young man who enjoys literature, especially Charles Baudelaire's Les Fleurs du Mal. Saeki Nanako, a girl at his school, is his inspiration and Venus, and he admires her from afar. He leaves his copy of Les Fleurs du Mal in the classroom one day and returns alone to retrieve it. He discovers not only his book, but also Saeki's gym suit in the classroom. He steals it out of a fit of rage. Kasuga is dying with shame and sorrow now that everyone knows "some pervert" stole Saeki's outfit. Furthermore, Nakamura, the strange, creepy, and friendless girl in the class, observed him put on the outfit. She sees his kindred deviant spirit and exploits her knowledge instead of exposing it was him.
