Eiichirou Maruo, a diligent and meticulous honor student, resolves to exercise more during his limited free time because he is concerned about his health. As a result, he joins the Southern Tennis Club after reading a flyer at the start of his freshman year. During his free trial at the club, he meets Natsu Takasaki, a fellow first-year student who is adamant about becoming a professional tennis player since she adores the sport. Eiichirou, on the other hand, lives a study-oriented life because he believes it is what he must do, not because he enjoys it. His humdrum days, however, come to an end as the more he plays tennis, the more enthralled he becomes. The story is called Baby Steps.
