Toyohisa Shimazu is the rearguard for his fleeing men at the Battle of Sekigahara in 1600, and he is badly wounded when he finds himself in a contemporary, sparkling white hallway. Faced with nothing except a stoic guy named Murasaki and hundreds of doors on both sides, Toyohisa is drawn inside the nearest door and into a world unlike his own. The weird country is inhabited by all kinds of magical animals, as well as soldiers assumed to be dead from various eras of Toyohisa's universe. Toyohisa quickly befriends the notorious warlord Nobunaga Oda and the ancient archer Yoichi Suketaka Nasu, and learns about the continent's political strife. Furthermore, they have been called as "Drifters" to combat the "Ends," which are mankind.
