Lynn Minmay established peace between the Zentradi and humans in the events of Macross 35 years ago. Fire Bomber's Nekki Basara is a guitarist and singer. He composes and performs songs in a less developed sector of the floating colony City 7, which is seeking for a habitable planet, with the notion that music has more power. During its voyage, an unknown alien species surfaced and began besieging City 7. Its assaults, however, are not typical; instead of attempting to destroy them, they take what is known as "spiritia," making victims unresponsive and zombie-like. During these confrontations, Basara invariably walks out into the middle of the battlefield, singing his songs and waiting for friends and foes.
