Yamato Akitsuki, a teen from Hiroshima's countryside, has relocated to Tokyo to begin his high school career. He has promised to assist his aunt and cousin operate their bathhouse and the neighboring girls-only dormitory where he would be residing in exchange for housing and board. He stops by a local high school track on his way to see his relatives and is intrigued by a high jumper honing her technique. Yamato later discovers that the high jumper is not just another dorm occupant, but also his neighbor. Suzuka Asahina is a well regarded track and field athlete who attends the same high school as him. Suzuka, a perfectionist by nature, is put off by Yamato's clumsiness and carelessness.
